    最有名的案子為2014年孟加拉裔美籍部落客作家羅伊，在達卡年度書展會場外公然遭到殺害。再來是今年4月，孟加拉第一本同志維權雜誌的編輯曼南與朋友，在家中也遭到凶徒喬裝闖入刺死。

    不過孟加拉安全官員說，這一連串謀殺案的凶手為國內2個激進團體：「伊斯蘭教法虔信者」（Ansar-al-Islam）與「聖戰協會」（Jamaat-ulMujahideen）。前者效忠基地組織，後者宣稱代表IS。



    不論是IS或基地組織，都曾在上述血案發生後宣稱犯案。孟加拉地方當局則表示，國內激進分子與國際恐怖組織無實際聯繫。

    與IS有聯繫的「阿瑪克通訊社」宣稱，人質事件正是IS所為。不過IS是否在孟加拉實際運作，沒有具體證明。孟加拉境內極端組織隨即成為被懷疑對象，特別是與IS和「基地印度次大陸分支」（AQIS）有聯繫的組織。
